Siam Cement Group’s Cement-Building Materials Business Accelerates Digital Transformation Through Cloud

Siam Cement Group (SCG)’s Cement-Building Materials Business utilises cloud-based solution with enhanced SAP S4/HANA to streamline and enhance operations.

DXC Technology announced on 29 September 2021 that they are working with the Cement-Building Materials Business of SCG to build on the company’s Google Cloud’s platform to support their SAP S4/HANA cloud transformation journey over the next five years. Cement-Building Materials Business of SCG operates its business on multiple instances of SAP enterprise resource planning (ERP) applications, and the shift from on-premises infrastructure to Google Cloud’s platform enables sharper enterprise-wide visibility across its business functions.

The two companies have worked together for more than ten years on infrastructure and outsourcing managed services, private cloud managed services, and security including application implementation and support. Some of DXC’s key milestones in the partnership include providing the Cement-Building Materials Business of SCG to scale its ERP systems up and down to meet changes in customer demands and data volumes. Additionally, the migration of SAP workloads to Google Cloud (with Platform as a Service) enables the SAP instances to be consolidated and become accessible across 33 companies in 14 countries cloud with minimal disruption to the user community of Cement-Building Materials Business of SCG.

Since implementation, the new cloud-based solution has put in place efficiencies that have enabled 1,000 Cement-Building Materials Business employees to use the integrated solution across finance, sales, supply chain, sourcing and procurement, manufacturing, and production planning.

Phase Two of the partnership will see on-boarding of SAP 4.7 entities onto a harmonised SAP S/4HANA platform to take advantage of new high-speed system and innovation, as part of the project roadmap.
