SESTO Robotics headed down to SEMICON Southeast Asia (SEMICON SEA) 2019 for its fourth consecutive year from 7 to 9 May 2019. The 3-day event held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) allowed the company to engage regional leaders from the semiconductor industry. They also demonstrated how SESTO Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) and Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) can make delivery processes in a semiconductor manufacturing facility more efficient.
CEO Ang Chor-Chen shared, “The big trend is that the Industrial 4.0 and Internet of Things (IoT) models are becoming more pervasive in today’s market. SESTO Robotics’ intelligent solution suite is able to provide users with the benefits of Industry 4.0 by achieving efficiency through automation and flexibility and agility in manufacturing that are supported by data-driven decision making.”
The company also showcased SESTO Prime which is a mobile manipulator designed to improve productivity and reduce human error in manufacturing processes. The Prime’s 7-axis robot arm provides flexibility in carrying out machine tending applications. Chief Technology Officer Mazher Anwar said, “Not only is SESTO Prime designed to improve productivity and reduce error in manufacturing processes, multiple AMRs can work simultaneously as a fleet towards a smart factory. With a 7-axis robot arm, picking, placing and transporting of goods such as FOUPs and wafer cassettes can be done with ease, allowing smart manufacturing to come into play as manufacturers head towards building a smart factory of the future.”
