Pilz has recruited B&R Industrial Automation MD, Mark Meng, as the safety automation firm’s new regional MD for Southeast Asia, effective February 3, 2020.
“I feel greatly honoured to join Pilz, the innovative company who invented the world’s first safety controller,” said Meng. “I am also excited to continue to contribute to the digital transformation of the manufacturing industries in the region, and together make the automation system safer.”
Meng joins Pilz after a combined 14 years at B&R Industrial Automation, most recently serving as the firm’s MD for Southeast Asia from 2014-2020. He first joined the firm in 2002 as a sales and technical representative before departing in 2007 to lead Rockwell Automation’s regional OEM business as a technical consultant then later as a business development manager.
Meng rejoined B&R in 2011 as a business development manager before being appointed the firm’s regional MD in 2014, overseeing key milestones such as the firm’s acquisition by ABB in 2017.
Prior to joining B&R, Meng worked in the channel ecosystem holding key positions at distributors such as Amptron Instruments and Jetter Asia.
On his new appointment, Meng reiterated his commitment to innovation in solving some of the most pressing challenges around machine safety, robotics, and Industry 4.0.
