In February, Pilz launched the world’s first batch size 1 modular safety relay, myPNOZ. It comprises of a head module with up to a maximum of eight expansion modules, which can be freely combined. In addition, this modular safety relay monitors from two to 16 safety functions inputs, which can be used to monitor safety functions such as E-STOP, safety gates, light curtains, two-hand controls IIIA/C and enabling switches.
With its online intuitive tool myPNOZ Creator, programming knowledge are not required to assemble a needs-based safety solution from a myriad of options. Depending on their individual requirements, users interconnect safety functions via logic AND/OR connections and a symbol will appear in the event of logic errors in the safety function sequence. Users can check immediately if the safety design meets their requirements in the myPNOZ. Users can switch between a logic view and a hardware view. Furthermore, the option for visualisation and extensive documentation are available via simulation. Once the product is generated in the myPNOZ Creator, the safety relay is then delivered pre-assembled and ready for installation.
The modules on myPNOZ are easily connected using BUS connectors and the whole system is powered via the head module. Hence, this reduces wiring. In the event of upgrading, swapping or removal of an individual module can done immediately without dismantling the whole system. In addition, myPNOZ has expanded diagnostics via LED for each module and safety input. This will accelerate troubleshooting and reduces downtimes. As a result, this guarantees users maximum flexibility over the whole product lifecycle. Please visit myPNOZ.com for more information.
