New General Manager Reinforces Position Of Grundfos Thailand In Water Pump Market

Grundfos has appointed Kenth Hvid Nielsen to the role of General Manager of Grundfos Thailand (GTH), with effect from 1st November 2019.

Having joined Grundfos in 1996, Kenth has since held various senior positions within the Grundfos Group. Kenth has notably driven key product development initiatives within the company’s Water & Wastewater offerings, built up Grundfos’ global product line management, as well as headed Grundfos’ Water Utility segment globally. Prior to his appointment, Kenth served as Regional Director for Water Utility in Western Europe (WEREG).

In his new role, Kenth will lead the overall sales operation within the Thailand market for the key business areas: Industry, Commercial Business Services, Domestic Business Services, Business Development and Aftermarket Service Sales.


With 23 years of experience with Grundfos, Kenth delivered strong growth for the business across his various roles regionally and globally. Bringing on board great leadership and in-depth industry knowledge, he will play a pivotal role in growing Grundfos’ sales and customer base, adding value to one of the key markets in the region.

Grundfos is a key player in Thailand’s water pump business. Revenue of the Thailand water pump market in 2019 is estimated to be about US$23 million and the market is projected to grow with a CAGR of six percent during between 2019 to 2029, according to a study by Persistence Market Research. Massive industrialisation and urbanisation are the key drivers of the market, contributing to rising demand for effective social and industrial infrastructure in cities in Thailand. Furthermore, the government has initiated several sanitation projects which fuels demand for water pumps in Thailand.
