KUKA Group Envisions Easy-To-Use Automation For All, Opens Centre Of Excellence In Malaysia

International automation group, KUKA, via its Malaysian business entity, KUKA Robot Automation (M) Sdn Bhd, officially launched their new Malaysia office in Puchong, in early April. Established in 1999, KUKA’s business operations in Malaysia included serving as the Group’s regional office for APeC (Asia Pacific excluding China), as well as South East Asia (SEA)

The new Malaysia office launch of one of the largest worldwide suppliers of intelligent automation solutions, was graced by the presence of Andy Gu, Vice President of MIDEA Group, Alan Fam, Chief Regional Officer (CRO) of KUKA APAC, and Erich Schober, Chief Sales Officer (CSO) of KUKA Robotics who came all the way from Germany.

Also in attendance were key representatives from MITI, MATRADE, MyRAS and the local automation ecosystem who wished to extend their well wishes to KUKA Group on their new office unveiling.

Andy Gu, Alan Fam, and Erich Schober also addressed the capacity crowd with keynote speeches that offered a glimpse into the automation-driven future, and the role KUKA plays in its evolution.

The launch ceremony was an activity-filled event which included the unveiling of KUKA”s latest robotic solutions like robotic arms, intelligent automation software, collaborative robotics, and IoT-integrated solutions.

Business partners and members of the media were treated to live demonstrations of KUKA’s capabilities and cutting-edge technologies. These demonstrations; which were all held at the new premises, included use cases for productivity improvement in environments like glove production, warehousing, steel wire manufacturing, oil, gas, aerospace, and even a robotic cafe that wants to revolutionise serving of their beverages.

For over 125 years, KUKA’s  goal has been to make peoples’ lives and work easier with automation. With an established and diverse intelligent automation portfolio that goes far beyond automation to also include digital services, KUKA now aims to make their technology solutions more intuitive to use, as well as easily accessible to businesses and individuals.

 

The new office which also serves as KUKA’s centre of excellence (CoE) in the region, is a good showcase of its sustainability initiatives that intersect with innovation and competitiveness. The group’s ecosystem of partners and clients can experience and be hands-on with KUKA’s groundbreaking technologies at this CoE.

 

Supporting Businesses in APeC With 100 Million Euros in Sales Revenue

From Malaysia, KUKA’s regional function with a headcount of over 60, oversees and serves system integration partners, digital marketplaces, and distributors in eight countries – Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, India, South Korea, Japan, and Australia with support, software development, and consultancy. A Solutions business function in Malaysia also works on key regional and global accounts for KUKA Group.

Notably, KUKA Malaysia’s 360-degrees support includes preventative maintenance, and if required, upgrading and refurbishment for a second lifecycle of equipment investment made by clients.
