LTA has approved the EV Common Charger Grant (ECCG) to EV Charging Technology (EVCT), a Singapore-based EV-tech complete solutions company, to install EV chargers in private residences such as condominiums and private apartments. The ECCG approval signals a significant development of increasing EV adoption in Singapore through having more interoperable charging stations built at private residences across the island.

EVCT’s technology is able to build and carry out smart functions and capabilities for EV chargers that are compatible across different EV models under the requirements of the ECCG. The EV-tech company uses a one-stop Charging Station Management System (CSMS) solution, with its frontend flagship EV charging mobile app, Juice+, to enable private residence operators to maintain and manage their charging stations for themselves, or for their residents.

Juice+ is also currently undertaking a collaboration with Nanyang Technological University (NTU) for a technology transfer and licensing agreement to evaluate advanced technology solutions for EV charging load balancing management.

A home-grown startup in Singapore established in November 2020, the EV-tech company was founded by a team of like-minded expert engineers with deep experience in the EV industry spanning from EV charging station management to intelligent transportation systems within Singapore and the rest of Southeast Asia. Since Q3 2021, EVCT has been identified as a key stakeholder and expert by Enterprise Singapore (ESG) to provide feedback on Technical Reference 25, a standards review undertaken by the Singapore Standards Council to specify the technical specifications and safety requirements for EV charging systems in Singapore.

Mr Alfred Ang, CTO of EVCT said, “The approval from LTA marks the next milestone in a remarkable year of progress for us at EVCT and the overall EV development journey in Singapore. On top of our EV charging solution, EVCT’s Juice+ app serves as the one-stop solution for both companies that want to develop their own charging stations and EV owners looking for a convenient solution to charge their EVs. As an EV-tech company, we are very confident and fully committed to working with all stakeholders in Singapore to develop EV technology for a more sustainable future.”

EVCT is furthering the EV drive in Singapore through active collaboration with key stakeholders in the industry such as automaker Cycle & Carriage, other fleet operators, and charging point operators to develop the EV space.
